Caregiving is a universal need that impacts everyone. This course describes formal and informal caregiving, and how chronic conditions increase as people age. It explores how medication cost and compliance are interrelated and influence people's health, independence and quality of life. It describes the physical and emotional toll that caregiving takes on caregivers, and why it is important to structure the downsizing and move process around the needs of the caregiver.
This course includes the film, At the Breaking Point, that illustrates the emotional and ethical issues that are at the core of family caregiving.
